Marriott is the largest and richest hotel company in the world and can set the standard for the global hotel industry. Marriott’s 13 billion dollar acquisition of Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 2016 made it even larger, with 6,500 properties worldwide.
Nearly 8,000 Marriott hotel workers who are members of UNITE HERE went on strike in 2018 and won new agreements to ensure our Marriott jobs are safe and enough to live on. Now we’re bringing those victories to more of Marriott’s hotels in the U.S. and Canada.
UNITE HERE is one of the most diverse labor unions in North America, with a majority membership of women, people of color, and immigrants. We are calling on Marriot to lead the industry in offering jobs that are safe and enough to live on. We hope you will join us.
This website is a service for customers of Marriott hotel properties. It is advised that meeting and convention planners and all other travelers check this website for labor disputes that could affect their travel plans. This website is maintained by UNITE HERE, the hotel workers union.
UNITE HERE represents 270,000 members working in the hotel, gaming, food service, manufacturing, textile, distribution, laundry, transportation, and airport industries in the U.S. and Canada, including many immigrant, DACA, and TPS members.
